We are in the middle of editing our memoirs. What a fine example of some self-editing seen above. Social Studies Maya Project is due 4/9/15.

In Social Studies we are starting to study the Mayan Culture. Above is a poster example of what is expected in the group project. The questions are from reading class, please complete them IF you did not today in class.

Language Arts- memoirs are wrapping up and we start to teacher conference and edit tomorrow. They are due on THURSDAY, March 19th. Above are some examples of visuals, though they are not required in the final memoir, a visual may add to your theme.

If you are writing an "older person essay," those are due on March 10th. This weekend, think about adding to your memoir stories if you do not have at least two of the three completed in rough draft form.

Some visuals from Language Arts class and our Socratic Seminar. Tomorrow we will look at strategies in ending our memoirs while tying the whole piece together.

We are looking at tier 2 vocabulary (academic vocabulary) while defining the words and coming up with a synonym. The Socratic Seminar in Social Studies was fascinating, it will be great to try one again in the future.

I have been meaning to add these visuals from our memoir research. Refer to them as needed- they are nice posters to use as help throughout this writing process. We are getting ready to take part in our Socratic Seminar tomorrow in Social Studies.

In reading, all students picked a novel to read. They will have half of the period on Tuesdays and all of Thursdays to complete their alphabet book project until it is due on  March 25th. In Language Arts, we studied mentor texts of memoir authors.
